The weekend of my Birthday, we got a sitter and Doug was supposed to take me out to dinner and a movie. The dinner part happened, but after dinner he took me over to my friend Carmen's house, and Doug and I got to hang out with them for the evening, IT WAS GREAT!! I had been wanting to spend some quality time with my friend Carmen for quite some time, but with her schedule(she home schools too) and mine it was unlikely to happen. Anyway, we didnt take pics of that, but on Saturday, Doug surprised me again by inviting my other friends(Tabitha and Courtney) to a lunch out he planned, as well as the couple whose daughter I babysit. We had a great time there as well, and of course, Doug was the photographer!

So, I turned the BIG 30 this year (May 13th) and I wanted to do something I hadn't done in a while, a very long while, so I got bangs. Turns out its been more almost 15 years since I've had them and had been putting this idea off for years, coming up with one excuse or another. So, I decided it was time!! So that's what happened on my actual Birthday. Doug and the girls also took me out to dinner(had a BOGO coupon, of course) and then back to the house for cake, just the four of us, it was nice and relaxing....Then the weekend came, and Doug had a few surprises for me. I'll add more later!Its taking me long enough(over 2 hours) to get these photos downloaded and put in the correct order, yikes!Looks like I need to take a class on this whole blogging thing.

For Mother's Day we went to church, and then to Macarther Center in Norfolk, Va. The girls spent some time at the newly renovated indoor play area, and they both loved it. It was another beautiful day, so we got some nice pictures outside our house and church too. Hope everyone had a good Mothers Day!! Karen
